The police in Kampala have arrested the man suspected to be the leader of the infamous Kiboko squad believed to have been behind the fracas that left several people nursing injuries during the Kampala mayoral elections.
A
group of stick-weilding men believed to have been acting under
Semakula's command beat up several people indiscriminately including
journalists on Wednesday last week.
The police spokesperson Judith Nabakoba identified the man as Juma Ssemakula.
She says he was arrested this morning from Kireka, a Kampala surburb and is currently being held at the Rapid Response Unit.
Nabakoba says police has launched thorough investigations about the man who claims to be working on behalf of the police.
She
asks members of the public with information or complaints about
Semakula's notorious activities especially the victims of last week's
chaos to come out and volunteer information on 0712 66 77 05.
