Uganda Market activity
In Uganda, total turnover among primary listings more than trebled during the week, mostly due to the increase in total turnover on the Stanbic bank and DFCU Bank. Stanbic bank was the week’s top trader contributing 56% but fell 1.8% to close the week at UGX 270. DFCU fell 0.1% to UGX 1,000 and generated 41% of the week’s total turnover. New Vision Limited rose 4.4% to close at UGX 715 while British American Tobacco moved up by 3.7% closing at UGX 840. Uganda Clays Limited remained flat at UGX 40 and closed the week with outstanding offers of over 1m shares. The week’s ALSI rose 0.7% to close at 1243.0 points.
