There has been free drama this morning along the Kampala Gaba road when Police intercepted and arrested the Kampala Woman MP Nabilah Ssempala for walking to work.
Nabilah was on her way to the US embassy when the Police arrested her near Kabalagala Police station.
According to the legislator, her vehicle ran out of fuel and yet she did not have any money on her so she opted to walk to the ATM.
The Police ordered her to stop and cut off the road, a thing she resisted leading to her arrest. However the manner in which she was arrested was a point of concern to the many people around.
Nabilah’s driver identified as Hajji Abdullah says that the male Policemen manhandle her, during which she fell into the water trail by the road side.
According to eye witnesses, the Police then sent for female police officers who dragged her across the road and pulled the trousers she was wearing down to the ankles, leaving her half naked.
She was then dragged to the Police station where she is kept. She has however refused to change clothes saying she was comfortable.
She is set to be arraigned before the magistrate’s court in Makindye to be charged with holding an unlawful assembly.
Others present at Kabalagala police station were Kawempe South MP Latif Ssebaggala and Nabilah’s husband mr. Ssempala
